5-Day Basho Valley Trekking Itinerary
Day 1: Skardu to Sultan Abad (via Basho Valley)
Drive Duration: 45 minutes to Basho Bridge (KH Bridge), then 1–1.5 hours jeep ride to Sultan Abad
Begin your journey from Skardu, heading towards the lush and scenic Basho Valley. The drive takes you through breathtaking landscapes, traditional villages, and beautiful greenery.
After crossing the KH bridge, the jeep track leads through a narrow, wild valley surrounded by high mountains and serene beauty.
Sultan Abad, known as the “Heart of Basho Valley,” sits at around 3,000 meters. This village marks the end of the jeep route.
The meadows here are peaceful and full of natural charm—perfect for camping and relaxing after your travel.
Overnight: Camping in Sultan Abad
Day 2: Sultan Abad to Trala Bat
Trek Duration: 4–5 hours
The trek begins from Sultan Abad, ascending steadily through forests, streams, and alpine meadows.
Along the way, enjoy stunning views of the surrounding peaks and untouched nature.
Trala Bat is a quiet and calm campsite offering a perfect wilderness experience.
Overnight: Camping at Trala Bat
Day 3: Trala Bat to Punar Camp
Trek Duration: 4–6 hours
Continue your adventure towards Punar Camp, a higher elevation zone with cooler temperatures and even more dramatic landscapes.
Wildflowers, mountain streams, and glaciers begin to dominate the scene.
Overnight: Camping at Punar Camp
Day 4: Punar Camp to Rdukas
Trek Duration: 4–5 hours
A scenic trek through high-altitude terrain leads you to Rdukas, a remote and majestic part of Basho.
The terrain becomes more rugged, and panoramic views become even more rewarding.
Overnight: Camping at Rdukas
Day 5: Rdukas to Shaghar Thang or return to Skardu Trek + Drive Option From Rdukas, either continue your exploration to Shaghar Thang, another pristine valley section, or begin your return trek back to Sultan Abad and drive to Skardu. The return journey offers a different perspective on the landscape you crossed earlier more time to soak in the experience.
